[RANT] Hotels are places of business, control your crotch spawns!

Post Body

So I work in a hotel (yaaay), our hotel is a little special though seeing as we mostly house military and government civilians. We have a lot of people that come in and out of here for days at a time for leisure travel or come in TDY (temporary duty assignments) for conferences but we have many more families and individuals that are here for longer periods of time because they are PCSing in or out (pcs is permanent change of station) or they are here TDY for months at a time.

Right now our hotels (we have two that are "sister hotels") are completely booked. We have everything from older people to couples to families to people with pets, you name it we've got it and a lot of them kind of see this as a home because they'll be here for like... 1-4 months so it's not super cold and cooperate but it's still a fucking business place.

Now that you have the setting lets get to the ranting! There's a play ground right outside of the hotel, still in a secure area it's only about 10 feet away, super safe and a lot of the kids go out there to play. However, way too many of them don't seem to understand that once they enter the door that lets them into the hotel, they're no longer outside... which means they shouldn't still be screaming, running, shooting their nerfguns at each other, ect...

Yesterday we kept asking these little monsters really nicely to please stop abusing the elevator buttons and stop running- they'd get scared for half a second say "Yes Sir/Ma'am, sorry" and then they'd keep on going. Today we played the same really nice game before my coworker for this shift asked the kids "What are your room numbers". The little things clammed up and one blurted out "I'm not supposed to tell my room number to strangers!" and the rest of them (there were like 5 of the adorable little terrors) all agreed. To which my coworker said "We're not strangers we work here at the front desk. You guys need to quiet down this is a place of business and you guys are being loud and running around and are messing up the elevators and it's making it hard for us to help people, and hear people on the phones and the like." They all just kind of nodded and went back to havoc causing..all but two that is because they were like "I'm not getting in trouble, it's not worth it"

So the rest of them keep screaming and running and harassing the elevator, and as i'm helping a patron trying to explain how the remotes work (there are three of them and they're really weird) i hear beep beep beep and all i can do is sigh because I know exactly what's happened. Not at all to my surprise I see one of the kids come out and he's heading outside to meet up with the rest of his friends. I looked at him and said "Did you just push every button in that elevator?" as i'm asking him this the patron who is about to have to suffer through that elevator is nodding at me and the kid meekly says "yeah i didn't think anyone else would be coming to use it"... I sigh again and ask him what his room number is and he tells me before quickly making his way out. I write it down, tell my coworker and he makes the call- a few minutes later we see that kids older sister with their nerf guns in her hands and she's letting him know he's screwed.

TL;DR: Had crotch spawn running around the hotel and wreaking havoc, we finally got one of their room numbers and called their parents so hopefully the problem will lessen a bit.
