Has anyone ever needed to take custody of a child despite being resolutely childfree? A family member has gone to rehab and the father is unfit to care for the child meaning my husband and I are the only ones who can take care of her the next 45 days. We don't want kids but couldn't live with the child being on the system.
Everything I've suspected about myself and feared about parenthood has come true. And I feel guilty being annoyed, tired, disinterested because it's not her fault. I'm also angry at the irresponsibility of her parents to put everyone in this situation.
I'm so glad we childfree are challenging the life script and actually valuing human life enough to not bring people into this world that we cannot do right by.
Rant over!!!
