I hate when people suggest having kids as an antidote to lack of social support

Post Body

I am estranged from all of my blood relatives because of horrible abuse and trauma. I have rebuilt a life with chosen family that I love but I am resolutely CF. Sometimes though, it’s still really hard to do life when you don’t have the support that comes from a built-in supportive family you’ve had since birth. But when I complain about this people are like “it’s easier to cope with when you have your own children, they’ll be there for you” and I’m like WTF……NO??? My kids should not have to be there for me and support me….I should be the one who is there FOR THEM, not the other way around. I’ve known too many people who are fucked up because they had to support their parents when they were kids.
