Please tell me y'all's experience with tubal ligation/removal? She's freaked me out with the idea of long term side effects, pain at scar sites, permanent things that come with removing tubes. Post tubal ligation syndrome has me freaked. I want to eliminate my risk of becoming pregnant, but not at the risk of my livelihood. Right now I still have abortion access.. though I'm moving soon to a place where it has become far less accessible- and she's making another IUD seem reasonable (I got pregnant on paragaurd and I've always been wary of hormonal IUDs [I have PMDD symptoms tho no diagnosis] I'm seriously considering Mirena). I drove hundreds of miles to meet this Dr only to be met with so many are you sures. I appreciate her concern for my long term permanent health changes, and I just want to see what others experience has been. I'm 25 for reference.
Edit: Wow thank you all so so much for your responses- I need to clarify that she would want to remove the tubes - she actually was pretty against just ligation and convinced me to remove the tubes themselves. While she's definitely been trying to make me seriously consider the risks (I think with some motive to spook me) she never mentioned post tubal removal syndrome - I found that while doing more research after she called me to talk about the risks/side effects after our initial appointment. I'll be looking for another Doctor but I'm in a bit of a rush to get this done before the end of the year before I'm without insurance- just to book with her was a three month wait for the initial new patient exam. Thank you all, I feel way better about this decision
