For those of you that got sterilized, did it give you peace of mind (even if you weren't sexually active)?

I (26M) intend to get a vasectomy in May. Even if I didn't get a vasectomy, kids wouldn't be an issue because I am currently sexually inactive, but I feel getting one would give me peace of mind just knowing I won't be able to cause a pregnancy, now or in the future.

Honestly I relate and I’m a non sexually active lesbian. There’s virtually no reason for me to get sterilized and I’d probably never get approved for that but it would make me feel so much better knowing my body was incapable of pregnancy.
