I met with a new gynecologist a couple months ago for a checkup and to talk about my PCOS, which I've had since I was 12 (I'm 31 now). At the initial appointment I indicated my desire to have a hysterectomy and my CF status. I received no pushback. She said okay, let's do these tests so we have some grounds to get your insurance to approve it.
Met with her again yesterday to go over the results. I apparently have a submucosal fibroid and my uterus is enlarged. She said there are two options, she can either try just removing the fibroid or she can remove my uterus. She left the choice completely up to me, didn't try to sway me at all, and when I said I just wanted to remove the uterus she said okay, we'll contact your insurance and get it scheduled.
I'm still in shock. After years and years, several doctors, several different treatments... It's finally happening. I finally found a doctor that will listen and isn't trying to change my mind or asking me to try yet another treatment first.
I'm so excited. I can't believe it's finally happening!
