Michigan prices?!

A buddy of mine has been going to Michigan to get carts and flower. Apparently the prices there are stupid cheap, like $70/oz of flower and 1g carts between $50 and $25. I looked around online and confirmed his prices but some of the brands looked sketch, especially the $20-$30 1g carts. Anyone have experience and know if the quality is good? Any particular brands to stay away from?
