“Luck is looking for a needle in a haystack and coming out with the farmer's daughter”
Phyllis Martin (1938 -) Professor of History
"Luck affects everything, let your hook always be cast; in the stream where you least expect it there will be a fish"
Ovid (43 BC - 17 AD) Roman Poet
"I believe in luck: how else can you explain the success of those you dislike?"
Jean Cocteau (1889 - 1963) French Writer & Film Director
I know I’ll have to be incredibly lucky posting online – as Phyllis has intimated, but I’m still with Ovid on this..
.. but now for the boring but necessary part:
(a) I'm Billy Joel-sized. If you're looking for an oak tree I'm not going to be your guy - and you can move on to the next posting now...
(b) my education and socialisation were all in Europe, so if you're looking for a domestic model I may not be your cup of tea..
(c) I'm long out of my thirties - so if you're fixated by numbers you can also eliminate me. This hasn't stopped the odd teenager from hitting on me in the not-too-distant past, but it would take someone pretty extraordinary (age is just a number, but life experiences are not) to have me turn my life into a Woody Allen movie...
if you're still reading I've no shopping list about who you may or may not be - so if you fancy having a chat, hit me up!
