Dreamstate Chicago — worth flying in for it?

Post Body

Saw the lineup. I'm a huge trance fan. I even have a guilty pleasure for some of the mainstream big-room stuff that a couple of the headliners will likely play. My flight and hotel will be stupid cheap thanks to the credit card perks I accrued.

Will the show be worth the travel? I actually have been to Radius--I serendipitously saw Gareth Emery this year because my Chicago layover turned into an overnight stay due to my flight being cancelled. It was the only time I was happy to have a flight get cancelled. I sat in the back but it seems like a huge venue. Besides the music, half of the experience I feel is the energy from a large, vibrant crowd full of fellow trance lovers. I'd hate to see an underwhelming turn-out of a half-full venue like the DS Miami some years ago (granted they were competing with the 100 other EDM shows during MMW that night). For me it just kind of kills the vibe. Weird--I know.

What do you guys think? I'm so conflicted since despite being almost free, the process of travelling is always a headache--but it's worth the hassle if the show and crowd is good! It's an amazing venue but idk if it's too big for the event.
