Chicago Bar Pool Etiquette
Post Body

So, Question of the day.

Was at a bar with a coworker, he wanted to go play some pool. We go to the pool table (only one in the bar), he puts his quarters on the rail, waits for them to finish. (3 people playing cutthroat btw). When they are done they step away from the table, friend pays for the balls, he racks them, we get our cues and are about to break. Guy comes over and is like "We're playing doubles right" "No, we're just gonna play a game of singles" "But we won, so we have this is still our table" "...."

Long story short, guy picks up our cue ball and is a total douche about "it being their table". He won't back down and tells us to go ask the bartender, etc. We don't care enough, we tell them to give my friend back his dollar and we'll be on our way.

I'm pretty awful at pool, so I don't know the rules about this. But I'm pretty sure letting two friends play singles after you are done and not being a d-bag about "holding the table" when you are just playing amongst yourselves in a bar. Am I way off here or is there an unwritten rule
