APT RENEWAL- posted lower $ online

Our building (The Montrose in uptown) sent us a renewal letter for $2565 /mo which was a HUGE increase for us. We decline of course as the building is no where worth that price point, fast forward a few weeks and they post it online for $2160... They tried to hose us..
I doubt it is, but curious if that's in anyway against the law? Certainly against any common ethics but genuinely curious on everyone's thoughts as I am just beside myself over how egregious this is.
