I made Malort ice cream recently for a cocktail I call The Eastland, which got me thinking: I'd like to bring Malort ice cream to work or to situations where it would be best not to be blotto. Has anyone had luck creating something that tastes like Malort, but is non-alcoholic?
The main flavor notes are grapefruit peel and wormwood. I thought about boiling a grapefruit peel and wormwood--from my local apothecary?--with sugar to form a syrup, but if anyone else has already succeeded in this venture, please let me know.
