Flash flood and driving in a Honda civic
Post Body

Hi, I have work at 5. I’m new to Chicago and this is my first flash flood warning. Would I be safe driving in my civic? I ask because the warning said do not attempt to travel unless evacuating.

I’m from the desert where flash flooding is no joke. Think I’ll be okay, or should I take CTA instead?

ETA- live in edgewater, going to Lakeview

Update- took the redline. Saw parked SUVs with the water line pretty high up on their tires. Thanks for the recs, glad I’m able to make it to work safely.
