Guys I just wanted to share something cool. One of my symptoms pre decompression was balance troubles and one of the tests I just could not do was the one where you walk a straight line toe to heel, like a sobriety test. I couldnāt even take one step, Iād fall every time. My dr. actually told me if Iām ever asked to perform that test to refuse and give a blood sample instead because I cannot do it. Same with the whole āput your feet together and close your eyesā test- I immediately lose my balance and am floppin all over trying not to fall over and catch my balance.
Well! Went to the park with the kids yesterday and theyāre walking along a little balance beam, toe to heel. Iām like huh. Letās try that. I didnāt get on the beam cause historically Iād fall off immediately but I did it in the grass and yāall. I walked that straight line toe to heel for the first time and I barely even wobbled. Didnāt wanna cry so I just left it alone and took it in.
Then me and my SO were on the porch last night and I did it again! Straight line no wobbles and at the end I put my feet together and closed my eyes and didnāt. even. move.
Might seem small but for someone whoās been off balance for 29 years, it was incredible. Just wanted to share. ā¤ļø
