Guys I just wanted to share something cool. One of my symptoms pre decompression was balance troubles and one of the tests I just could not do was the one where you walk a straight line toe to heel, like a sobriety test. I couldnā€™t even take one step, Iā€™d fall every time. My dr. actually told me if Iā€™m ever asked to perform that test to refuse and give a blood sample instead because I cannot do it. Same with the whole ā€œput your feet together and close your eyesā€ test- I immediately lose my balance and am floppin all over trying not to fall over and catch my balance.

Well! Went to the park with the kids yesterday and theyā€™re walking along a little balance beam, toe to heel. Iā€™m like huh. Letā€™s try that. I didnā€™t get on the beam cause historically Iā€™d fall off immediately but I did it in the grass and yā€™all. I walked that straight line toe to heel for the first time and I barely even wobbled. Didnā€™t wanna cry so I just left it alone and took it in.

Then me and my SO were on the porch last night and I did it again! Straight line no wobbles and at the end I put my feet together and closed my eyes and didnā€™t. even. move.

Might seem small but for someone whoā€™s been off balance for 29 years, it was incredible. Just wanted to share. ā¤ļø
