Dear Chia farmers,
In this post we want to tell you a little anecdote about hope and defying the odds.
Our most recent block was found by a very small farmer. And when we say small, we mean REALLY small.
This farmer joined our pool 6 days ago and had 7 plots at the time of finding the block, making his ETW 32 years. And, equally mind-boggling, it would require 4 years of pooling at current netspace to farm the 0.25 XCH farming reward.
In our pool, we are no stranger to defying the odds. The first 6 blocks we had included two 400% effort blocks that gave us a terrible start. In a recent luck streak, we recovered from that nearly completely, with our last 30 days effort being at 94%!
These events lead us to admit that even though we try to approach probability in the most rational way, our minds really have a hard time dealing with the concept of luck. And that in the process of farming Chia, we train our brain in these concepts through trial and error.
This post is in honour of all those small farmers that contribute to the network. Know that there is hope that you will find a block, and know your contribution counts! And we invite anyone, large or small, to defy the odds in space with us.
P.S. the farmer has not popped into our Discord to claim his fame. So, dear John Doe, if you are reading this please come and receive your glorious title "Bringer of the Block" in our Discord under the loud cheers of the SpaceFarmers community!
