What can I start off with as a beginner?

I know a good amount of chess tactics and notation. I have also prepared playlists for checkmates and more tactics to start off with. However, I’m not sure about openings or strategies. A friend recommended to me the london system and the king’s indian defense. Is there anymore stuff that I could start learning?
