So I play 1.e4 in every single game, but I've read that 1.d4 is more solid and better for players who want to play a steady game which is heavy on position. I'm really good at endgame for my rating level (~1600 classical on lichess) and win most endgames I play, but most of my games don't reach endgame as either I or the opponent blunders a tactic which loses the game. My few experieces playing d4 have thrown me out of my comfort zone and I've ended up losing. I feel like my win rate may improve with 1.d4 if I could... not blunder everything away. Any tips on how to switch up my opening repertoire?
