Tournament Game I Played
Post Body

This is a tournament game I played this weekend as black. The time control was G/60. I was in time trouble at the end so I don't have the end game but did end up losing.

2. c4 e6
3. Nf3 d5
4. g3 Be7
5. Bg2 Nbd7
6. O-O O-O
7. Qb3 c6 {Seems like I should have just played c5.  I don't think I'm properly fighting for the center.}
8. Nc3 Qb6
9. Rd1 Re8 {At this point I was thinking of playing e5.  However maybe I should have just went forward with c5. I was worried about cxd5 giving me an isolated queens pawn.}
10. h3 Qxb3 {A mistake I was thinking that the next move threatened the pawn on c4 but I missed Ne5.}
11. axb3 Nb6
12. Ne5 Nfd7 {Probably too passive as it allows the knights to be exchange and then c5. makes it hard to develop my bishop.}
13. Nxd7 Bxd7
14. c5 Nc8 {White's plan is to put a knight on d6 and strangle my position. My light square bishop is pretty useless here. }
15. e4 dxe4
16. Nxe4 Bf8 {Was trying to prepare e5}
17. f4 a6 {However I abandoned the e5 plan here. I was worried about lines like} (17. ... f6 18. kf2 e5 19. d5 cxd5 20. Rxd5) {Where white has control over the d-file and is able to support a knight on d6 more easily.}
18. Bd2 Na7
19. Ba5 Nb5
20. Bf1 Be7 {Trying to trade off dark square bishops}
21. Kf2 Bd8
22. Bxd8 Rexd8
23. Bxb5 cxb5
24. d5 exd5
25. Rxd5 Bc6  {Missed the free pawn on h3}
26. Rxd8  Rxd8
27. Nd6 g6 {It seems like my position has gotten better.  The knight is on d6 but my light square bishop is in better shape then it was before.}
28. Re1 Kf8
29. Ke3 Rd7
30. Kd4 Re7
31. Rxe7 Kxe7
32. g4 Kf6
33. h4 h6
34. b4 Bf3 {I wonder if this was a mistake as it allows the knight to go e8 then .  I was trying to make some sort of passing move.}
35. g5  hxg5
36. hxg5  Ke6
37. Ne8 Bc6
38. Ng7  Ke7
39.Ke5 Bd7 {I don't have the game continuation but I think this is winning for white. For example 40. f5 Bxf5 41. Nxf5 gxf5 42. Kxf5 Kd7 43. Kf6 Ke8 44.Kg7 Ke7 45. b3 Ke6 46. Kf8 Kf5 47. Kxf7 Ke7} *
