I know that technically you canโt put your king into check. However this is because the King could be taken, but in this circumstance the rock is pinned and could never take the king. This should be a legal move. Thoughts?
This logic falls apart real quick because if you are allowed to play Kxe4, then using the exact same logic white is allowed follow with Rxe4 and you lose your king first.
But the real underlying rule is that itโs about the squares, not the pieces. You cannot move a king to a square controlled by an enemy piece. End of.
