Loading crown (thio-/aza-)ethers with Cu
Post Body

We're trying to test for any ionophore activity for Cu. I haven't done any organic or inorganic chem in almost a decade so I'm way outside the loop.

I was planning on dissolving the crowns in MeOH, followed by addition of CuSO4 or Cu(ClO4)2. Does this sound like a reasonable place to start? I figured I'd try here before harassing our collaborator.
