Sodium chloride smells like sulfur??
Post Body

I have just melted some table salt in my furnace and casted it into ingots, and they smell like sulfur. I used a graphite crucible and a steel crucible and both ingots smell like sulfur, so I don’t think the crucibles contaminated the salt. Why would melting the salt and cooling it again make it stink? And is it safe to consume?
