Say I have a mixture of two solids, A and B. I want to sublimate A (which has a lower melting/vaporization temperature) while leaving B behind.
I assume the heat capacity is a linear mixture of those of A and B and calculate the energy needed to raise the temperature of the mixture to the sublimation temp of A. Then say A has a sublimation enthalpy of 1000 kJ/kg. Is that the only energy I need to supply, or is more energy required because heat is going into the mixture of A & B and not just A? Is there a way to calculate this?
