How do I distinguish between the measurement terms in chlorination chemistry?
Post Body

How do I distinguish between % active chlorine, % available chlorine, % chlorine, their relation to their oxidizing powers, if there's any? Also, which of them is being referred to by a label of a container of a disinfectant substance (let's say a container of NaOCl or Ca(OCl)2) with the term % chlorine (because I don't think they mean the actual % chlorine here, I suspect they're talking about the % available chlorine)? Also, are they percentages weight %, volume %, % (w/v), or trade %?
