Torres as an offensive midfielder: How farfetched is this idea?

Sure, he may be a natural striker and all that rubbish but hear me out here.
His recent form has proven that he can assist more than he can score, and IMO he's a great passer/crosser. Am I the only one who thinks Torres as an offensive midfielder and Sturridge as a central striker is a bad idea?
