Do guys buy condoms just because

My husband (43 male) and I (43 female) have an “ok” relationship, although we’ve had our share of fights. Despite this the physical side of things has been great. I recently found 2 packs of unopened condoms in a random drawer near the front door and asked him about it (since we don’t use any) and he said that all men buy them even if married and not using them, for example if they pharmacy doesn’t have exact change. I don’t buy it but want to check if I’m over reacting.
