i recently found messages between a woman and my dad on his phone and the messages implied he was cheating on my mum. I confronted him about it and said I know what has happened between you too and i just want it to stop. he said i’m sorry i have let you down and mum down. He kept apologising. I said i’m not gonna tell mum and i haven’t told anyone but i just want it to stop. He then said again he was sorry and it will. repeatedly. My dad isn’t a horrible person and never has been. I know our relationship will never be the same again. But did i do the right thing? My mum has health problems and anything big like this would cause her to have a heart attack/stroke and my mum would not survive financially without my dad. also i know my dad was just seeing this woman for sex and nothing more. I now have a guilty conscience as my mum is in the dark abour this and i am just going through a terrible time. Did i do the right thing?
