tl;dr is it normal to feel my whole erection but it's just hiding behind the cage along my body?

I've been experimenting with different chastity sizes for some time now, and found that my particular challenge is I'm a grower.

I found this tiny cage which should fit me fully flaccid, but I'm constantly aroused throughout the day so "fully flaccid" rarely happens.

However, I also got a 4pc strap for this one, and I was able to get it all on by some miracle. With the strap, it's actually very comfortable, and I love how it looks.

Now my question: I'm not sure how else to describe the feeling other than it's like I'm still hard, but most of my shaft is kind of hidden within my skin/stomach? When I get really aroused, I definitely still feel the erection, but the positioning of the strap kind of pulls it up along my body and then into the cage at the head only.

Is this normal? Safe for long term wear? This cage was smaller than I was expecting so I wouldn't be surprised if I went a tad too small.
