How does cherry keeper work?

With my cages thus far I’ve maintained having a 55mm ring and just get shrinking the cage. I want to try a micro cage now after the nub.
Anyway, - does every ring fit with every cage - on CK or is there something that tells me what’s compatible? I’m not used to having this much choice (with all the measurements etc) as the usual site I use just pre makes certain sizes and that’s that.
