3D printing custom cage?

We just received the CB Curve, and it pains me to say it that it's just not wide enough.
Has anyone considered 3D printing the cage out of polycarbonate? That way you would be able to reuse the rest of the CB hardware for securing it.
I'm willing to give it a try, but only if the end result would be aesthetically pleasing. Kinda like a DIY custom cage.
Thoughts? Advice?
