Guess it's time to get a new belt. Again.

I prefer the "hybrid" style belts with the cable crotch and sheet steel waist, but they have a structural weakness. I've recently broken my second belt, and they've had the same failure point - the wire rope frays at the crimp fitting.
This time I think I'll try making the joints more robust by flowing in some silver solder. Any other cable belt wearers tried this?
