Practicing sigil creation okay?

Total n00b here, exploring and learning. My question is, is it bad to create a sigil with no intent to actually cast it? I wanted to play around with sigil creation a bit while I learn but wasn’t sure if it was a bad idea to do that without taking the sigil through to completion with a ritual and casting.
