So, the term sport doesn't have only one definition. A sport arguably depends on actual physical exertion, in which case shooting with low calibers wouldn't count any more than chess, because both require little exertion. If it's about dexterity, when why wouldn't Osu! or a digital shooter count? You would most certainly exert yourself more playing difficult Osu stages than you would shooting, and it would arguably require much more dexterity. So. Why is shooting a sport / why aren't certain E-Sports sports?
