Skiing in Chamonix for Beginners Questions

My fiancée and I will be in Chamonix for our honeymoon this December, and we're currently organizing the ski portion of the honeymoon. We're beginners, so we're looking for group classes to help us continue developing our skills. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, where does one rent gear? We won't be bringing our own. Finally, what are some recommendations for the different lift passes? Since we're beginners, I don't think we'll need access to everything in the region.
