Hi! I’m massively inexperienced compared to most of you, but I really enjoy my own chainmail projects (which is not to say I’ve made anything more complex than a bracelet or a pouch). I typically make my own wire using 18 awg steel, and I’m not terribly efficient about it. I wrap it around a wooden dowel by hand and I use wire cutters to clip out the rings one by one. I’ve seen some impressive setups around here and don’t really have the means to build a whole thing, but I was wondering if anyone had some advice about how to just cut the rings more efficiently. I wasn’t sure if there was a recommended way to cut through a coil faster than wire cutters would allow. Any advice appreciated!
