Hi All,
I am on my 4th or so injection of Ajovy. I have my SO inject it into my thigh. It hurts and stings pretty bad after about 2 seconds until the end. Is this normal?
I am wondering how fast the injection is supposed to be. My SO seems to go a bit slow and is afraid of the needle âbreaking offâ under my skin. I personally assume needles were designed so that doesnât happen.
I just wanted to check with others on how you do your injections.
Try the stomach! I think the medicine itself may sting, but as a nurse, patients tell me all the time that stomach hurts less for getting injections in general in comparison to other parts of the body! I have found for myself that I prefer the stomach as well.
Also, it helps to really hold fat very taut. That helps the needle to go in less painfully. The way you insert the needle can also account for pain. Itâs about finding balance between stabbing it in and going in slow.
Hope that helps a little!
