My partner and I are both unemployed (for different reasons) and we are on our last $30 basically.

We have sold everything around the house worth selling.

I was under the impression that I would be receiving a third economic impact payment from the IRS (US), and have been waiting for about three weeks for a desperately needed $1400 to show up in my account.

Today I got a notice that they adjusted my payment to $0.

The reasons listed as possibly why (bc the IRS can’t just be straight with you) don’t really make sense as applying to me. I wasn’t claimed as a dependent by someone, I didn’t earn money from sleeping in bed (haha), I definitely didn’t write my last name wrong…

I don’t have the spoons to deal with this and call and find out why exactly they canceled it, when I’m sure calling won’t change anything anyway.

But we desperately needed that money. I’m devastated and don’t know what to do. No idea how to come up with several hundred dollars when I’m asleep 18 hours a day on average.

Devastated.
