It's time to just come out and admit it to myself- I definitely have a type. And no matter how many American guys I meet, something is always missing. Maybe it's the odd expression when I ask if they've ever drank Bailey's from a shoe. Or the eye rolling when I watch the John Lewis Christmas advertisements and cry. Perhaps it's the exasperation when I'm taking too much time to make the perfect cuppa (Yorkshire > PG Tips). I could go on and on, but for both our sakes, I'll keep it brief.
Have you ever felt like you were born in the wrong place? I'm thoroughly convinced I was, and there's some poor British girl who's enamored of all things American stuck in the UK.
Is it normal to make it a point to wear Union Jack knickers on July 4th? Probably not, but l'm too far gone to care.
It's far more than the accent, though the accent is lovely. It's the sense of humo (u)r and the general outlook on life, including the need for orderly queuing. I've just always gotten along better with Brits, and so it might be time to throw this specific request out into the ether to see what happens. I'd like to meet and converse with new people of the British persuasion and see what happens. Preferably my age or older.
Like the header specified, I'm 34, originally from FL, now in NY state, very near NYC. I'm in grad school, work as a bartender and do some graphic design on the side. 5'10", brown hair and eyes. Currently obsessed with seeing all my favorite works of art in person. Last book I read was Blitzed: Drugs in the Third Reich. Last movie I saw was Alien Romulus. Currently listening to The Cure. Anything specific you'd like to know, just ask.
Ah, well, my attempt to keep this brief has failed just as badly as King Richard at the Battle of Bosworth Field. If you've made it this far, haven't been bored to death and are still interested, feel free to send me a message. Hope everyone with today off in the UK had a great bank holiday!
