Like who I am, what I seek can't really be defined in a list. It's an experience of holding hands in a museum, reading plaques to each other and commenting on how things relate, theorizing why they happened or how, and making obvious wrong guesses as jokes that become internal memes. It's having two people to order new food so we can try each other's, and maybe learning together to cook things from around the world. It's sharing our dorky thoughts, ludicrous observations, and quirky interpretations with someone who loves that we're so deliciously weird together. It's sharing phrases, words, and pronunciations to help each other navigate in countries where we don't speak the language, building that survival speech skill together (and sometimes saying bayrlalaa instead of arigato, and laughing about it). It's developing shorthand around culture shock, depression, ADHD, monachopsis, and whatever other challenges we face internally so that we can communicate and support each other through everything we face, together.
I've set a goal to be living outside the US by 40, spending maybe 1-3 years (or less, depending on visa juggling) in any country before moving on to the next, for as long as I can keep that up. I generally plan to avoid tropical climates, as I'm a northlander at heart and prefer temperate and cold, but that's not an absolute (and there are plenty of places I want to experience at low latitudes).
And I'd rather not do it alone.
My remote income journey has finally begun, and while it'll be probably November before it leads me to my US-based vanlife plans, I have some flexibility and mobility before then. So it seems like a viable time to start throwing lines out and seeing if anyone gets hooked ;)
I'm a witty, caring, thoughtful, romantic man, interested in intellectual explorations, deep conversations, and deeper connections. I'm an avid D&D player (PF2E kinda broke me on 5e but it's still the more common/popular system), and at my best DM more than I play. Rocking a dad bod, with the jokes to match. I've been told I have a very natural Dom energy, and I don't feel a need to assert it/prove it, nor an entitlement to anyone's submission as a matter of course.
I'm childfree, snipped, and not interested in reproducing or bearing the expectations of a step-dad.
My profile/post history has a pinned message with a bit more detail, as well as pictures.
