We know how discouraging it can be to search for a long time and not find someone you really connect with, but it can happen. We're CF, vegan and we live in different continents, but we still managed to find each other. I'm from the UK and my wife is from Morocco.

Way back in May 2022, I saw a post that caught my eye and I had to message her. She was funny, smart, beautiful and she rescued animals! We started calling each other and spent many nights talking long into the night. After a month I asked if I could come and visit her and she agreed! We spent 2 weeks visiting several Moroccan cities and the Sahara Desert. By the end of those 2 weeks we were in love and the rest is history.

I got snipped at the beginning of 2023 and visited her for Valentine's. In July I was confirmed to be sterile and she sent a fabulous cake to celebrate.

We visited each other a couple more times and after her most recent visit, when she met my family, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and was planning to propose at the end of 2024. The timeline was a bit quicker than we had anticipated thanks to the current UK government's crackdown on legal migration and family visa requirements. This meant I had to propose sooner than planned and I ended up happily proposing to her in December to avoid the immigration nightmare we knew was coming.

We got married in Gibraltar last week! We're applying for her UK spouse visa next week and hoping we'll have closed the distance by early summer.
