For Friendship

I'm a 40 year old childfree ( I don't want kids ever) woman from the upper Midwest. I'm looking to connect with likeminded people for potential friendship (race, orientation, gender don't matter for friendship). I value my privacy, and would like to meet other people that do as well, and who don't engage in negative gossip. I personally don't really socialize online much and keep my social media use to a minimum.

I am on a fitness journey and am currently overweight. I don't really engage in anything beyond going to the gym or using cardio equipment so I'm not ideal the person to ask to go rock climbing or do extreme sports with. Also didn't ever learn to ride a bicycle so that is sort of out too.

I am open to playing Steam games with online (Baldur's Gate, Divinity Original Sin, or Chess Ultra)?, try tabletop or board games with in person ( I am a total newbie), check out new restaurants with (if you are a local to WI/IL), see concerts, watch movies/tv (I like the fantasy genre here), or chat/email and learn about your life where ever you are in the world.

Maybe you kind of like science like biology, astronomy, psychology, or physics as a layperson. Maybe you also play or are learning to play an instrument.

I don't drink/smoke/or do drugs and have no interest in trying or changing that. Prefer that you don't either, but if you do just don't expect me to change my habits or put myself in a risky situation, but maybe you can tell me about your altered states of consciousness and trippy experiences. I'm also omnivorous. Not the best at cooking but open to learning if you are into cooking yourself.

My friendships don't include a sexual component. I know most of you are looking to date, so I've included preferences below.

Friendship can be a good basis to start a relationship.

You are located in United States, Canada, or UK (love dem accents). Hopefully you have the means to be able to meet in person to actually go on a physical date sometime or maybe you travel a lot for work or get lots of time off if we were to hit it off.

Have some way to support yourself. Doesn't have to be a job and you can be a student. I also don't want a cut of your paycheck or dividends. Working to live and not living to work is perfectly okay as is someone passionate about their craft/work or aspiring to retire early. Do not want to date someone on disability though.

Wants a partner not a parent.

Splits household chores or is okay with separate residences long term.

Looking for someone with a bunch of interests that intersect with mine.

Health and personal goals are not to be sacrificed for the sake of a partner's whims

Don't expect intimate acts on cam or nudes, or cybersex, ya know privacy, don't want footage or stuff like that out there the internet is forever.

Hopefully you like holding hands and cuddling, and aren't super into rough sex or BDSM (choking, anal, consensual non-consent, ownership, that type of thing). (If you ARE into those things, its cool, people like different things, lets just be friends :) )
