I am currently a Spectrum user, but I've used CenturyLink in the past (including their gigabit fiber), and I'd like to be able to use them again.
The neighborhood I currently live in is partially serviced by gigabit fiber from CL, but it isn't available on all streets (including mine). At my address I'm only able to get a 3Mb/s connection, far slower than the 500/20 I get from Spectrum. A good portion of the street behind mine is able to get gigabit fiber from CL, and it's available on a few other streets as well.
Based on what I've described above, how likely is it that CenturyLink would ever run fiber for the rest of the neighborhood? I would love to be able to have a symmetrical gigabit connection once again. I'm fine with the reliability and price of my current Spectrum connection, and the download speeds are fine (up to 940Mb/s theoretical), but due to the unbalanced upstream and downstream channels on a coax connection there's nothing I can do to get a better upload speed. 35Mb/s is the best I can get.
