I bought my house last year, and one of the things I liked was that it has windows everywhere. I have about 30 to deal with in a 1400 sqft home.
I want to make to make sure that the wooden frames don't need any action to ensure their preservation and that they are sealed as well as they can be.
I assume most window companies are about installing new windows. Does anyone have a recommendation about finding companies or professionals that specialize in old windows with wooden frames? I basically want someone who can assess and repair if necessary. Do I need two different companies, one for the frames and another for the windows themselves?
I am in St. Louis if anyone happens to live there and knows of a good company. Outside of obvious things like plumbing and electricity, I am pretty confused about who to call for X when it comes to random things (like who can figure out if my oven is venting properly to the chimney that runs behind it and fix it if not).
