I need a new phone. I dont really care if what brand (except Apple), and I prefer unlocked to avoid bloatware and contracts. I prefer also a company without a lot of its own bloatware (Samsung, for example came with a lot when I had an S5). I don't care if its some Chinese spyware or American spyware, its just for chatting with my friends and scrolling through memes. No iPhones because they dont have headphone ports and I don't want to have to switch to their ecosystem. I would prefer not to spend a lot of money ($600 is a good ballpark, plus or minus $100) but if I must, I must.
My current phone is a OnePlus 5t, which I love, but its almost 4 years (or more?) old now and its starting to show age vis-a-vis battery life. Also the camera is busted (glass around the lens shattered), so it's just time to move on. I'd like something that has a decent camera, a headphone jack, and a fingerprint scanner, but I reckon 2 out of 3 of those are pretty common. I have bluetooth headphones, but as batteries are finite, its not really reliable for long trips, which I sometimes take, and would like to be able to resort to wired earbuds when required.
Prefer 5G capability as thats the future, but it's not an absolute requirement.
