Packet Tracer Lab Challenge: Find the Imposter - Layer 2 (and other PT lab walk-throughs)
Post Body

Hey friends,

Lately I've been doing live stream lab walk throughs. So far, I've done four of them, and the replay are all available here:

https://www.practicalnetworking.net/stand-alone/packet-tracer-labs/

During the live streams I discuss my way through what I am configuring and why, and show you how to validate/troubleshoot with show commands, and in particular how to validate a device's configuration vs operation -- understanding and being able to confirm both of these is crucial to being a successful network engineer.

In any case, I'm releasing my first Packet Tracer Challenge Lab. In this challenge, I'm going to give you the MAC addresses of a few "imposter" hosts, and your job will be to find them:

I'm releasing the Packet Tracer file during an upcoming live stream: Monday 8/9 at 8am PST / 11a EST. This will all be free, and all you need is the link above. of course, Subscribing / Commenting / Liking would also be greatly appreciated.

This lab will challenge your ability to navigate through a L2 network to find a specific host. In real networks, you often don't have access to the clients connected, just the network. This scenario mimics something you'll need to be able to do in the real world.

Hope to see you then =)
