Hey all,
I've published a set of (free) training videos that will teach you everything you need to fully understand Access Control Lists. I want to share these videos with this community.
Pre-Requisites
(optional -- skip these if you are familiar with the concepts)
- Binary - The SIMPLEST explanation of Counting and Converting Binary numbers
- Wildcard Masks -- What are they? How do you convert them? What are they used for?
- Discontiguous Wildcard Masks and how Wildcard bits are matched
Access Control Lists
(watch these in order -- every lesson builds upon prior lessons)
- Part 1 – What are Access Lists?
- Part 2 – Numbered ACL Syntax
- Part 3 – Numbered ACL Configuration Demonstration
- Part 4 – Named ACL Syntax
- Part 5 – Named ACL Configuration Demonstration
- Part 6 – IPv6 ACLs – Syntax and Demonstration
- Part 7 – Applying ACLs to Interfaces
- Part 8 – Where should you apply ACLs (closer to source or destination?)
If you watch each of these videos in order, you'll be set on this important CCNA related topic.
If after watching these videos, there is anything you still don't understand, please ask in this thread! I want this series to be the "one stop shop" to understand ACLs, and am very interested in hearing where I might have missed that mark.
Hope you enjoy the videos.
Edit: Thanks /u/RDUHoofor the All-Seeing Upvote award, =). And /u/P3ligroso for the Hugz award, =). And /u/RAGNARBOT for the Wholesome award, =). And /u/mechanicaldummy151 for the Helpful award, =). And /u/jailorx for the Silver award, =).
