Hello,
I am trying to put together an article series that covers everything you need to know about VLANs for CCNA candidates. I've already wrote three articles about VLANs (1 2 3), but I wanted to ask this subreddit specifically if there is anything VLAN related that you have been studying for on the CCNA that isn't already covered by these articles.
The articles already cover these topics:
- What are VLANs?
- What are Trunk ports? What are Access Ports?
- Tagged frames vs Untagged Frames
- 802.1q VLAN Tag
- Native VLAN
- Configuring Access Ports
- Configuring Trunk Ports
- Configuring Native VLAN
- Configuring Allowed VLAN Lists (or VLAN Masks / VLAN Pruning)
- Using Show commands to validate VLAN operation/configuration
- show vlan brief
- show int trunk
- show int switchport
- show int status
- show spanning-tree
- Default Switchport Setting (as it relates tO VLANs)
- Dynamic Trunking Protocol (DTP)
- Why do we need to Route Between VLANs
- Routing between VLANs with two interfaces on a router
- Routing between VLANs with subinterfaces on a router
- What is a L3 switch?
- Routing between VLANs with a L3 switch
Off hand, I can only think of Voice VLANs, which I've already created an outline for. But beyond that topic, is there anything that these three articles do not cover, for the CCNA level?
(For now, I'm only concerned with CCNA level -- I'll expand to CCNP level in the future)
Thanks.
