When you say mount to pole?

Hi, when you say mount and antenna to a pole is what I’m describing accurate. So you take the actual radio antenna and you clamp it to the side of a pole and that is how you raise it for height? And then run your cables down the pole to your radio? I’m sorry if this is a dumb question, but it doesn’t seem to me anything I can find on Internet really dump? It just says mount on a pole and I need a better picture of what that means.
