I couldn’t pass up the deal and picked one of these up. After doing some research, I’m seeing that ‘some people’ say that they’re turned up too high from the factory and get really hot. I plan on using it bone stock, would it benefit me to turn back some of that power?? What’s everyone’s opinion on these, does yours get too hot? I’ll run a max of 2 hours or so at a time on LSB in my mobile. Just looking to make the radio last a couple years at least. I’ve never owned a Chinese radio but my 959 is still going strong.

Edit: Is anyone picking anything up on FM yet? We should be able to hit Europe on those nice sunny space days. Also, is freebanding still around, I’m mainly on 27.385, however I use to move up a few when I heard auuudddiiiooooo or Jesus himself holding the band down with his word.
