After running some pilot studies on a few participants early on, Gibraltar and I decided it was time to put our hypotheses to the test late in the game. Our third scientist, Octane, miscalculated the effect his stimulant would assist him in getting out of the second ring, and we had to leave him behind.
Gib and I watch the squads remaining number dwindle. 10...8....6... marvelous. We move toward the sound of death as the last two squads face each other, when suddenly...silence. "Oh no, we might be too late," Gibraltar says. "They're probably healed up by now." We find ourselves north of the narrow passage that is north of The Cage with the enemy team south of said passage. Ring 5 gives no room to move - they must pass through this passage to survive.
Remember - death is patient, and we scientists must be too.
I place my independent variables throughout the passage when I suddenly hear that lovely horn play over the loudspeaker. Our test subjects will be joining us shortly.
One enemy destroys one of my variables - excellent, now we know you're in the test chamber. I throw my NOX grenade, Gibraltar throws his bombardment on top of it, and he drops his dome shield back a bit so that we may observe the results in safety.
The ring pushes our test subjects through the chamber, where they are slowed, blinded, choked, and bombed.
Conclusion: such conditions eliminate test subjects swiftly, granting us the title of Champion.
I hope other scientists get to use our methods to replicate these results, it was thrilling watching the disintegration of life so closely.
