Is it wrong if I let my cat drink from my glass?

Post Body
My cat likes to get on the table and drink from glasses.
He comes to my glass (milk or water) and drinks from it. I think it is cute.
My mom got mad, said that it is gross.
Can it be bad for my health (or my cat's) to share a glass?
I try not to let him drink too much standard milk but water should be ok.
Is it fine to do it if I feel comfortable with it? To share a glass of water with my cat I mean.
